Happy New Year! I hope you had a nice break over Christmas.
So here we go again.
A brand-new year and a brand-new lockdown.
The latter, of course, brings its own challenges. Worse for some than others.
My personal situation is that I’m back working from my bedroom the home office.
My wife and 4 kids are all downstairs doing their own thing.
I have a daughter in Year 11 doing her GCSEs, two sons in Year 9 and Year 6, and a 15-month-old daughter.
The oddity is this has begun to feel more like normality than dropping the kids at school and heading into the office.
The advantage this time is that we’ve done this before. Not our first rodeo.
I emailed my team first thing Monday morning to welcome them back, talk about last year’s stats, and set some targets for 2021.
I also included in there that we are now ready for anything at the drop of a hat.
Not knowing, of course, that Boris would go out that evening and announce another lockdown!
But there were no panic stations.
No head scratching or having to organise remote working, diverts, action plans, etc.
We emptied the office fridge, covered the pool table and headed off home. No probs!
It is what it is, and we have proven before that we’re just as effective working from home as we are in the office.
In fact, over the previous 2 lockdowns, we saw open rates soar and leads generated hit all-time highs!
I believe a lot of how we perform over lockdown comes down to the attitude we enter it with.
So, what’s your current situation, what are your plans for Q1, and how can we help you hit your targets?
Best wishes,
Lee Shore
